Once restarted car worked perfectly. This could cause major safety hazard for me and my family while driving at highway speeds. I had my first weird mechanical problem with the car tonight. I have to pull over, turn the engine off, restart, and it seem to shift and drive ok until it happen again. E certified master tech that worked exclusively on imports and had even owned my own repair shop at one time no way i'm letting them touch my car its a hour repair plus parts and transmission fluid and five min of initializing with my scan tool up yours M. I was forced to drive my car to work and would just shift to neutral to shift through the tough gears.
It has been diagnosed with the conductor plate virus just as the aforementioned. Granted, most of my cars have been Accord and Camry types, but I always thought they were pretty nice. So explain to me how it's still under warranty. If its the plate, I was told it will be around £200, plus the oil and filter, and a gasket for the pan, plus labour. Now don't ask yourself; What should you do with P2767 code? Seems stuck in 6th or 7th gear and engine wines while trying to move forward.
I bought my car about two weeks ago. I wouldn't pass these problems on to anyone. Considering it is highly unlikely that all 8 solenoids fail at the same time, It seems that the conductor plate is likely the culprit. Limped home a couple miles with engine at 4000 rpms. We are talking about a 100,000 car needing a transmission. Very gently driven and any other way flawless, 92000 miles.
Once the car was shut off and sat a few minutes the problem went away. I missed that, must have taken longer to post than I thought! This could be used by lots of other forums as well. This has been a nightmare. It's beyond ridiculous that this conductor plate issue isn't being pursued in the courts - this suit was apparently 'settled' out of court - there needs to be a nationwide class action suit against Mercedes that requires them to fix the conductor plate issue permanently and reimburse owners who have had this expense. The vehicle service manual should be consulted for more information on possible causes of the fault, along with required testing.
It's been doing it ever since, twice on the freeway when I was trying to pass another vehicle. After turning car off and then back on. Nine months worth of promises gone. Mercedes-Benz, junk cars, exceptional arrogance!! I did not know of a previous class action suit until now and it is closed. The company said it is more than likely the valve rather than the speed plate.
We initially took a grand to fix the car. It has a horrible jolt when shifting from Park to either reverse or drive and will not upshift out of first. It holds 5 comfortably and 7 if you use the rear-facing folding seats in the 3rd row. Mercedes Benz told me the same thing about the parts and programming must be done at the dealership and cannot be done anywhere else. Much more responsive than the E320. Plaintiffs, who own a 2007 Mercedes-Benz S-550 originally equipped with the defective 722. They will fix the module and send same part back to you.
Will not shift out of 1st gear now. I had the tranny rebuilt a year ago but, the shop didnt replace the solenoids or valve body. I'm back on the road and it feels like a new car again. Dealership says they are totally unaware of the issue and this is the first time they have seen the problem. When everything works it's a lovely car with lots of room. I purchased my 2009 c300 last November and just this last Sunday, start giving power steering and Abs light. I would like to participate in a lawsuit to have Mercedes sell the parts to aftermarket shops.
Even the most advanced safety systems may not be sufficient to avoid an accident. When shifting to drive or reverse there is a terrible jolt. This is a major safety issue and I'm scared to drive my own car. Same problem on 2006 E350. The warranty is only good for 4 years or 50,000 miles. No decent discount and only a dealer part? Error codes alone could be a separate Sticky.
Very scary when you are driving and the truck cannot get gas; Also when the you have to put it in neutral for it to start once it sits about 15 minutes. Hard downshift typically from 3-2-1; although there is some significant lag and kick-in from 1-2-3 with aggressive acceleration. The cars behind me were at a red light. If your spark plugs look good, problems with your ignition system can also preventing a spark. It now has 175K miles.
I have the same promblem. The engine was running but had lost full momentum. Car is in the shop right now, having valve body replaced. If it fails, at least they have somewhere to go back to Sorry for not coming back earlier and Thank you all for your posts. I am asking for a recall on this transmission a lot of people are suffering we want justice!!! This major failure is, unbelievably, in addition to the engine rebuild required due to the sprocket issue. It does not register the failure codes and transmission shops cannot help me.
