Door switch had to be replaced. I have a Porsche 996, and the E55 would leave it in the dust at least for the first 100-120 mph. There are multiple problems with poor quality paintwork and corrosion that should just not happen to a car of this standard. General Comments: Very smooth on the motorway, good handling for such a big car. The big fault with this model is corrosion.

General Comments: This is a big powerful and comfortable luxury car and a relaxed motorway cruiser. Gas mileage is about 17 mpg or so.
Car was finally disposed when the cost of the last repair was about 50% of the value of the vehicle. I bought the car with all the records. The seats are relatively hard, but still comfortable. Apart from the things that have gone wrong with the car, it has proven to be reliable for its age. . Left front fog light blown. Cloth seats are in excellent condition and supportive, and are comfortable on long journeys. Heat shield bolts all corroded, and heat shield lying on top of exhaust silencer. I do all the services on my Mercedes personally.
The car offers plenty of power, and is comfortable and feels prestigious for a car of its age. The suspension is very capable of soaking up potholes and rough roads.
