But my recommendation is to stay with 10. It is not that much different than 8, and if you hate computers all that much you are really going to hate the hassle of reinstalling everything. Unless you have to have fully compatible documents, those alternative programs do everything the average user needs. Yes, I could pin that folder in my Save history and use it to navigate my OneDrive but I would have to do that in every single application I want to use OneDrive with - and many programs don't let you pin recent folders, like Paint. After rebooting to the Macruium Recovery disk it failed to see any images on both my D drive and also ext Samsung drive. That is free game to spammers. I'm trying to go back to Windows 8. Click on Get started underneath Go back to Windows 7. But as you said, I have no idea whether that will have other unknown consequences now or in the future. I upgraded to win 10 from 7 and wanted to go back. I can only just drag tabs from one Edge window to another because the target for dropping them on is tiny - and is on the left of all the other tabs, which is not where I want to put a new tab I'm adding to a window. So please, before you upgrade listen to others who post here a lot smarter than me, and get yourself a backup hard drive , download Macrium or similar software and back up your system. I bought my laptop at a store in Hong Kong in 2011 with W7 installed on it. But that's no help when I start writing a document on a plane and want to save it in the right place straight away. I haven't found any pages that don't work well, other than Google Docs which I don't use and the Microsoft licence calculator which I rarely visit. I should have known not to be bleeding edge. In other words it is quite snappy. You would have to install Windows and all of your programs from scratch, but you could use the backup to restore your data. After the install of 10 and using it for about a week, I absolutely hated it.
